Leading Blockchain Web Browser Brave Continues Upward Trend on Google Play Store Downloads

Brave Browser Shows Impressive Traction On Google Play Store

To most of our readers, it might be very surprising that Brave Browser is starting to gain traction. However, the speed at which this is happening is pretty shocking.

According to the data provided by Google Trends, since October last year, Brave browser is showing a lot of strength as it continues to trend upwards. While initially, it has been well below Opera and Firefox, in March 2019, Brave Browser surpassed these two browsers in popularity for the first time. In March, it started seeing a good incline and after April it surged yet again, leaving Firefox behind while slowly taking over Opera as well.

The open source and free browser from Brave Software Inc. has positioned itself as the browser that loads faster with better privacy protection. The firm was co-founded by Brendan Eich, the creator of JavaScript and a co-founder of Mozilla. Brave keeps data safe and provides users with the power to save or delete it. It features a built-in ad tracker and blocker. Brave browser is a complete package and what makes it even more attractive is that it support sites with micropayments, allowing you to reward your favorite content creators with a blockchain-based token called Basic Attention Token (BAT).

Data from AppBrain shows another interesting information about the gaining popularity of the browser. The graph below shows the trends of the top free apps by ranking in the communication category.

They also doubled their number of downloads on Android, showing 2 Million in a month.

This shows that it might be reaching critical mass. With the number of users and publishers using brave, it might now be much longer before it becomes a household name. Most people agree that their UX is better than Chrome with more strategically placed buttons.
